The May Parent Meeting was an opportunity to give thanks to God for His continued faithfulness, for our school volunteers as well as the many people who have been diligently working on the school’s strategic plan…plus root beer floats!

Parent Meeting_5.31.11

On a very cold and snowy evening, more than 100 people joined the school administration and members of the Advisory Council to receive updates and ask questions regarding the progress that Legacy Christian Academy has been making.  We are very grateful for the continued support of our LCA families and the broader community.

In addition to discussing our rebranding strategy and timeline, we reviewed the three-year operational plan with updates on the following strategic initiatives:

• Financial Analysis/Budgeting
• Establishment of a Comprehensive Advancement Office
• Compensation and Benefits Design
• Re-engineering Curriculum
• Agile and Adaptable Learning Spaces
• Tuition Structure and Methodology

Parent Meeting Presentation 1.31.11

The following is a summary of the December Advisory Council Meeting:

Administration Update:

• Report on a positive All-School Service Day – December 6th
• Enhanced benefits program roll-out for faculty/staff
• Preparations for Grandparents’ Day are underway
• One-to-one laptop program is continually improving
• Faculty are continuing to add more technolog in their classrooms including Moodle; sick students have been able to skype into their classrooms
• Overall climate of school is upbeat
• Weekly staff bulletins now including reading and thought pieces to enhance continuous learning
• Meetings with curriculum vendors is underway

Building Update:

• Review of the latest drawings of the new school campus in Ramsey

The November Advisory Council meeting included the following:

• Auditing firm of Froehling-Anderson presented LCA’s Financial Statements and Independent Auditor’s report
• Administrative Updates – Laptop Rollout, Enrollment Report, Marathon Results, School Climate
• Discussion on Management 2.0; creating an organization that is adaptable and resilient as well as focused and efficient
• Update on the 3-year strategic planning process

Administration Update

• Pride Wear is now available via website
• New school website will go live early November
• Curriculum review continues with first math curriculum team meeting
• Faculty have individual web pages
• One-to-One Laptop Roll-out program on schedule for November roll-out
• All Admissions paperwork redesigned
• Faculty/Staff met with Architects for staff input during workshop day

New Campus Update

• Open House for residents/businesses in City of Ramsey was held – positive response from those attending
• Secured an accounting firm to assist with our financial pro-forma for the school

Strategic Planning Process

• Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats (SWOT) exercise completed with a parent group, faculty/staff and student council
• Finalized the mission, vision, our promise, and act LCA documents
• Draft of LCA 3 year strategic plan – further discussion in November meeting
• Preparation for October 25th Parent Public Meeting

All council members discussed, agreed and signed Member Commitment and Group Expectations forms.
