LEGACY STUDENTS IN HONORS BAND
On Saturday, January 22, six students from LCA participated in the MN Band Directors Association Central Region Honors Band held at Coon Rapids High School. James Gabrielson performed with the 9-10th grade band and Nathan Colestock, Iain Thune, Talana Rudzitis, Marissa Kuik and Emily Raper all performed with the 6-8th grade band. In all, there were over 200 participants representing schools, both public and private from across the central part of Minnesota.
Band directors from many different schools worked with the students throughout the day. The two conductors (Jerry Luckhardt, U of M Associate of Bands and Tom Haugen, a former teacher being inducted into the MMEA Music Hall of Fame) did a fantastic job with the students. They all rehearsed for the better part of the day and finished with an outstanding concert before a packed house. Congratulations to those students!
