Feel the Breeze

Can I get a ROARRRR? How about a gentle Purr? LCA sports fans this fall where over the top at the varsity volleyball games! Regardless of whether they were decking out in white or brightening up the room in orange, the stands were never quiet. When asked about the fans this year, Lexi Weddle said, “They were a volleyball team’s dream! They were always at every game, and whether we were winning or losing, they stayed until the end! We said before just about every game,’Let’s win this for God and the fans.’”

But the fans didn’t just get our players pumped up. They also challenged the other team’s fans to get involved too! The New Life game showed it best when our fans got so into it that they started off with a little white board that said “No Life – 0” and “LCA Fans – 2” and escalated all the way up to backhand springs! Nate Bertsch helped us picture the game perfectly when he said, “We all switched sides when the girls did, and we all had headaches from being so loud, so we just passed the Advil down the line. We talked to the girls on the other team a lot, and they were getting really annoyed! It was great!” In the end the Lady Lions ended up losing in the fifth game, but they were still so amazed at the dedication of their fans!
In the end the fans didn’t just bring a smile to the players faces and brighten the room with their matching apparel, they also were so encouraging and supportive to the players. They made sure they were still having fun even in a tough match. Regan Jones summed it all up perfectly when she said, “They were more than we could have ever asked for. They were so supportive and they kept our adrenaline and energy going. Their cheers were clever, and their positive energy reminded us what we are playing for – The Lord and each other.”
