In partnership with Taher, Inc. LCA offers a great hot lunch alternative as a service for our families. Trish Nelson is our Hot Lunch Ordering Coordinator. Lori Rasmussen is our Hot Lunch On-site Manager.

How nutritious is the food that will be served?
LCA takes nutrition very seriously. We are committed to serving good tasting, nutritious food at a reasonable price. Taher follows the Minnesota Department of Education Nutrition Guidelines for each meal.

How do I order hot lunch for my child(ren)?
LCA is using a pre-order system that is posted on our website. Under the Hot Lunch tab, click Menus & Order Form. Here you may print the menu and order form for the month. You will only need one order form per family.

1. For detailed instructions to complete your order click on Ordering Instructions under the Hot Lunch tab.

2. Please turn your completed order form to the front office receptionist (inside door 6). We suggest you keep a copy of the menu to help you remember what you have ordered on what day. The menu for one month will be posted on our web site by the 10th day of the previous month. The order forms will be due by the 20th of every month unless otherwise communicated. Your hot lunch orders will be included in your FACTS tuition bill unless a check is provided.

Why do we have to prepay for our meals?
In order for LCA to keep the cost of the meals low, we must order the meals in advance. This allows Taher to be efficient in their ordering and allows them to charge LCA less for each meal. We have talked with several other schools that use this same program. This system seems to work very well.

What happens if my child, because of illness or other issues, is unable to eat their meal?

When your child misses their meal, we will not be able to issue you credit. LCA has made a commitment on your part to pay Taher for the meal. Since LCA cannot get a credit for the meal that was missed LCA will be unable to credit you. However, if LCA cancels school AND is able to obtain credit from Taher, LCA will pass the credit on to you. LCA will issue “credit coupons” to be used for future meals. These “credit coupons” will be given to each child to bring home. The parents can then attach them to future orders for credit.

As a parent/grandparent/sibling can I come to school and pay cash for my meal?

Unfortunately this is not an option, due to ordering constraints we will not be able to sell meals for cash. Since there are three lunch periods we need to accommodate those who have pre-ordered their hot lunch first. LCA does not feel we would be able to accurately judge the number of cash meals to order. We are happy to say, however, that as a guest you will be able to order meals on your family order sheet. The order sheet has a place for you! Include your name on one of the lines and in the HR column of the form please use a “G.” (“G” stands for guest.) If you are a staff member please enter an “S” in the HR column. (“S” stands for staff).

How can I help?
