National Honor Society

National Honor Society is an organization dedicated to honoring high school students who stand out in the areas of academics, character, leadership and service. National Honor Society was originally founded to “create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character.” Students initially become eligible during junior year based on academics. A committee of teachers then nominates eligible students after a careful assessment of character, leadership and service. Once chosen and inducted into NHS, members involve themselves in service to the Legacy community.
