Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy’s college counseling page. The primary focus of the Guidance Counselor is to help students with their plans for after high school. Students participate in grade level activities, beginning in 8th grade, to help them discover areas of interest, prepare for college entrance exams, explore careers and research colleges.
8th graders: Students take the EXPLORE exam. This exam is a practice ACT with a career assessment.
Freshman: Students learn about the importance of grades and transcripts and attend classroom discussions about laying the foundation for college preparation.
Sophomores: Students explore career areas by attending Career Jam, taking career assessments and hearing from various career speakers. Students take the PLAN exam, another ACT practice with a career assessment.
Juniors: Students are encouraged to attend a college fair and our Junior College Planning Evening. Students are required to take the PSAT, a practice SAT exam, and attend an individual college meeting – parents are invited to attend.
Seniors: Students are encouraged to meet again with the counselor if needed, send out college applications and attend the Senior Financial Aid Evening.
