LCA_SCHAPE_logoLegacy Christian Academy is committed to offering opportunities for athletes to connect and grow during the off-season. We believe that maintaining an active lifestyle will benefit each athlete throughout his or her lifetime.

Each sport camp will include a daily devotional element connecting the heart of the athlete with their physical performance.

Note: Enrollment at LCA is NOT REQUIRED to participate in our camp opportunities.

Summer 2018 Offerings

Strength & Conditioning

Grades Entering:  5-12 & Alumni

Dates:  June 4-21 & July 23 – Aug 9 (M, T, TH)

Session I:  7:30–8:45 am (Advanced)

Session II:  8:15–9:15 am (Intro)

Cost: $120/session 

Location:  LCA Sports Center, Fields, and Weight Room

Description:  Participants will engage in plyometric, speed, jump, and strength training activities. All workouts will be adjusted to each participant’s entering ability level with the goal of improving overall athleticism and health. Participants can choose to register for one or multiple 3-week sessions. Advanced session is geared towards seasoned athletes and extends lifting by 15 minutes. Intro session is geared towards younger athletes and restricts limits lifting to 30 minutes. Opportunity to be selected for Legacy’s Iron Award.

Clay Target: Trap Shooting

Grades Entering:  6-12

Dates:  July 15, 22, August 12, 19, 26

Time:  2:00 PM

Location:  Beaver Brook Gun Club, East Bethel

Description:  Trap Team Captains practice throughout the summer supervised by certified Trap coaches. For more information contact Todd Foy (860) 324-6544.

STP Skate Training

Grades Entering: 7-12

Cost:  $150

Description: Athletes will skate at Schwan Super Rink #5 in Blaine one day per week with coaches to improve on the fundamentals of the game of Hockey. Other group activities will also be offered such as power skating & stride evaluation. Minimum of 15 skaters needed to run the camp.

Boys Hockey

Girls Soccer Camp  “Vida de Futbol”

Grades Entering: 5-12

Dates:  Thursday Evenings June 7–July 26 (skip July 6)

Location:  Upper Soccer Field

Session I:  6:00–7:00 pm (Grades 5-12)

Session II: 7:00–8:00 pm (Grades 9-12) *COMBINED W/ SESSION I*

Cost:  $55

Description: The first hour will focus on fundamentals for younger players with small group work led by Varsity players. The second hour will focus on Varsity returning players enhancement of skills. Please bring water bottle and soccer ball.

Volleyball Camp

Grades Entering:  3-12 (Boys & Girls)

Dates:  June 11-14 (M, T, W, TH)

Location:  Sports Center Gym

Session I:  9:30-11:30 am (Grades 3-5)

Session II:  12:00–2:00 pm (Grades 6-12) *COMBINED Session II & Session III*

Session III: 2:00-4:00 pm (Grades 9-12)

Cost:  $90/session

Description: Session I – Athletes will have the opportunity to serve and pass every session.  In addition basic hitting, setting, and rotation will be taught

Session II – Each day will focus on a different skill to gain more advanced knowledge in the areas of hitting, serving, passing, setting, and general court play.  

Session III- Beginning and advanced coaching in the areas of hitting, serving, passing, setting, and court play.

Basketball Youth Camps

Grades Entering: 3-7

Session I – GIRLS: June 18-21 (M, T, W, TH)

Session II – BOYS: June 25-28 (M, T, W, TH)

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm

Cost: $95/session

Description: Basketball skills-Dribbling, shooting, passing. Team competitions- Dribbling sprints, free throw games and all kinds of shooting games.

Volleyball Summer League

Grades Entering:  8-12

Dates:  June 18-July 30 (Monday evenings only)

Location:  LCA Sports Center Gym

Time: 5:00pm

Cost:  $70 per team

Description:  Open to JV or Varsity level players. Team captains should form a team of 7 & complete the registration for their team. All teams must commit to playing 2 matches per night and reffing 1 match per night. Matches will be either 30 Minutes or best of 3 games. Summer Running Club


Grades Entering:  7-12

Dates:  June 11-July 30 (Monday evenings)

Time:  7:00pm

Location:  Varies – schedule to be provided on first night.

Cost:  $55

Description:  This once a week running club is a great training spot for anyone interested in increasing their distance endurance! Coach Morrell will provide a location each week for the runners to meet with a designated route and estimated end time. The club will finish the summer w/ a 5K fun run. Registration for the 5K will be covered by the registration fee.

Volleyball Private Lessons

Grades Entering: Any (Boys and Girls)

Dates:  June 15-August 10 (F)

Location:   LCA Sports Center Gym

Cost:  Varies based on number of athletes, contact Justina Glovatsky for pricing.  

Description:  Group lessons are an opportunity to improve skills individually within a realistic court setting. Examples of activities:  Hitting against a block, spot hitting, spot serving, live serve receive/defense, setting off a pass, and much more.  Athletes will be grouped by position and or skill level.

Description: Dual/Individual lessons are similar to group lessons with more focus on individual skill and individual coaching. Dual lessons are grouped by skill level.

Open Gym

Grades Entering:  5-12

Dates:  Will vary – schedule to be posted by Jun 1

Location:  LCA Sports Center Gym

Time: TBD

Cost: FREE! No registration required.

Description:  Legacy coaches are once again committed to supervising “open gym” throughout the summer months. These sessions are unstructured and based on activities of interest to the participants present each night. If no one comes on a given night, the supervisor will cancel by 7:30pm.

Golf Lessons

Description:Various opportunities are available to work with Varsity Boys Golf Coach Tyler Adams throughout the summer to work on swing, putting, course management, etc. Interest inquiries can be directed to Legacy Boys Varsity Golf Coach, Tyler Adams for more information.

Camp Policies

Registration is due prior to May 26. No refunds on cancellations will be issued. A welcome email confirming registration will be sent prior to the beginning of camp. The email will contain additional information about the camp such as curriculum, what to expect, where to meet on the first day, what to bring, what to wear, etc.

Please pay close attention to the end time of class and pick your student up promptly as we must prepare for the next class and day.
