Week 4: I Trust in Your Purpose, Lord

One of the expectations that Jesus has for us as believers is that we surrender our own desires for His purpose. No matter how many maps we design in our hearts, it is God who orders our steps.

He is asking us to trust Him with our purpose, to lean on Him and know that He can clearly see the path laid before us, even when we are unsure of our next step.

Trust in the Lord will all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Lord, You promise to make the crooked places straight. You have ordered my steps and designed a purpose that allows me to be exactly who You’ve called me to be. Hep me to answer that call with a resounding affirmation as I gratefully, humbly, and expectantly wait for You to fulfill Your purposes in and through my life. Lord, You are my shepherd and my guide, help me to hear You when You call, believing that You have planned for me even more than I could ask or imagine.

Week 3: I Trust in Your Provision, Lord

One of the expectations that Jesus has for us as believers is that we steward what we receive and give generously according to how He has blessed us. For we were created to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

He is asking us to trust Him with what we value and to invest it in what moth and rust cannot destroy — transforming lives and leading others to Him.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

II Corinthians 9:7-8

Lord, I know that my heart is influenced by where I store my treasures. Let me be faithful and generous by pouring my resources into what matters most to You. Help me to measure my worth, not by what I have, but by who I am in You. Lord, You are faithful and I entrust my treasures to You, believing that you can do even more than I could ask or imagine.

Week 2: I Trust in Your Promises, Lord

One of the expectations that Jesus has for us as believers is that we put Him first above all the other distractions and difficulties of life, that we allow Him to work in and through us.

He is asking us to trust His promises, not only with our words, but with our lives, allowing us to lay down our own priorities and to put His first.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

Lord, I am presenting myself today as an act of surrender and worship. I stand humbly in Your presence, overwhelmed that you would give Your life for mine. Father, I am trusting in Your promises as I offer myself to You, believing that in my life and through me, you can do even more than I could ask or imagine.

Week 1: I Trust in Your Plans, Lord

One of the expectations that Jesus has for us as believers is that we are to trust Him with our lives and our future; what we will eat, where we will sleep, what we will wear – who we will be.

He is asking us to believe in His ultimate, perfect plan rather than our man-made dreams.

Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act. Psalm 37:5

Lord, help me to seek You today with my whole heart. I submit my will to Yours, Father, knowing that You have the best of plans for me. I give my life into Your hands and submit my way to Your plans. Lord, grant me grace as I seek You and trust that You can do even more than I could ask or imagine.
