All this week we will continue to learn more about pond life. This morning, we read books about pond life and saw a short video about the animals that live in and around ponds. Next, we brainstormed pond facts. Then, we predicted what we might see in our own Legacy pond next to our building. After that, we spent some time observing the pond, and then wrote sentences in our journals about what we observed.
Some of the students got to see a baby heron eat a frog for lunch in front of their eyes! The students are working so diligently writing complete sentences. It is great to see them using their “sound spelling” to spell words.
It was a special treat to have Mr. Nydam join us for our pond experience today.
