MS: For the first time in several years, Legacy was fortunate enough to field a MS Soccer Team. We joined the North Suburban Parochial School League (NSPSL) in their Junior Varsity Division with a co-ed roster of 21 athletes in grades 5-7. The team advanced to the Championship Game of their division and took home a 2nd place trophy after falling 1-3 to Heritage Christian Academy. Overall Season Record: 7-3-0

HS Girls: The Legacy Volleyball team competed against tough competition early in the season which prepared them to advance quickly in the Section 4A tournament. Receiving the 11th seed after QRF tie-breakers, the Lions defeated Minneapolis North & Maranatha Christian to advance to the section semi-finals at Nova Classical where they fell 1-3. Seniors Talana Rudzitis, Mari Smitsdorff, and Cali Weddle all earned All-Conference recognition and All-Conference Honorable Mention went to junior Gracie Zieroth. Within the MCAA Conference, Legacy took 5th place. Overall Season Record: 12-21-0

MS: Legacy expanded the MS Volleyball team this year fielding 2 teams in the North Suburban Parochial School League (NSPSL).  A 5th-6th grade team competed in the league’s B-Squad division and a 7th-8th grade team competed in the league’s Varsity division. Both teams received compliments from opponents for their clean 3-hit volleyball style which didn’t earn them early season wins, but once again proved to be advantageous in the season ending tournament where the Varsity girls advanced from 8th seed to the championship game. Overall Season Records: 3-8-0 (5th/6th) and 7-9-0 (7th/8th)

Co-Op Activities

Cross Country w/ Spectrum HS: Legacy had three runners join the Sting for the 2016 season which ended with both the boys and girls teams earning 3rd place in the MCAA Conference Championship. Kirsten Meinert ’18, Cooper Manske ’20, and Ben Nauman ‘21 all contributed to the Sting’s season and Nauman was awarded All-Conference Honorable Mention. Legacy’s co-op with Spectrum for Cross Country is being dissolved, at Spectrum’s request, due to risk of increasing enrollment numbers affecting the 2017 post-season classification. We are in the process of researching options for fall 2017.

Football w/ Anoka HS: Freshman Morgan Juelich, Reese Minks, Finn Sheils, and Caleb Walker all contributed to the Anoka HS reshman Football team this past season. Season record unavailable.

Swimming & Diving: Girls w/ Andover HS: Legacy had one swimmer, senior Bethany Urbaniak, contribute to the Huskies Girls Swim team this past season. She consistently competed in Back Stroke and Freestyle (Individual & Relay), adding the 400 Medley Relay in the conference relays. The team ended the dual meet season with a record of 8-0-1 and finished third in the conference.
