Legacy Girls Soccer has an exciting future with a core group of young players stepping in as upperclassmen next season and growing numbers at the middle school and youth levels. To support this growth, Legacy’s Athletic Department was committed to finding a coach who would continue to build the program while being deeply committed to discipleship. We are excited to announce Sidney Manske has been hired as the Legacy Head Girls Soccer Coach!

Coach Manske graduated from Legacy in 2018 and continued her soccer career at Crown College. After her career as a player came to a close, Sidney served as the Assistant Coach at Crown for three seasons. In 2025, she returned to Legacy as assistant coach. She shared, “Serving as an assistant under Coach Vikesland helped me gain a deeper understanding of what motivates these girls and I was able to form relationships with the team.” In addition to her work at Legacy, Coach Manske has served as a Head Coach for Orono Westonka Soccer Club and Tonka United Soccer Club the last four years.

Coach Manske stood out during the hiring process. Athletic Director Nathan Bellefeullie said, “It was evident in the hiring process that Sidney viewed this role as an opportunity to build relationships and disciple the young women in our program. We were able to see this in action last year while she served as an Assistant Coach and watched her lead team devotions, encourage the athletes, and be an example to them as they look for adult mentors who are pursuing a deeper relationship with Jesus.”

He continued, “As a part of our staff, we knew she had operated under the Coaching for Transformation framework we utilize in the Legacy Athletic Department, and that she will come into this program with a wealth of experience on the field as well as an intentional process to disciple her players.”

”The girls are gaining a relationship-driven leader who is devoted to Jesus, committed to excellence and who will challenge and encourage all of the players in the program,” Bellefeuille added. “We believe in her vision for our middle school program and that she will continue to grow and build excitement around Legacy Girls Soccer.”

The opportunity to return to Legacy holds special meaning for Coach Manske. She shared, “As a Legacy alumna, it feels full circle to have a chance to help these girls grow, not only on the soccer field, but also in their faith and their friendships on the team. Those are the memories I still cherish from my experience as a soccer player at Legacy.”

She continued, “I’m most excited to work with this great group of girls and the future players coming up. They always keep the days interesting and remind me to have fun with the sport we love.”

We will also see another familiar face on the sidelines as long-time Head Girls Soccer Coach, Todd Manske, joins the staff as an Assistant Coach. “After being my daughter’s coach for 10 years, I never thought the day would come when we’d be coaching together at Legacy. I’m looking forward to her teaching this old coach some new tricks. When I stepped away from coaching, what I missed most were the relationships and the memories with the players and teams. I’m excited to work with these girls—they’re hardworking and bring a great work ethic. Getting the chance to coach again is invigorating, and doing it alongside my daughter makes it especially meaningful.”
