Your Shadow Day is Confirmed!
We’re excited to welcome you to Legacy Christian Academy for your upcoming Shadow Day! This is your chance to experience one day as a Legacy Lion. You’ll meet teachers, explore classrooms, and connect with students in a place that we know you can thrive!
To help you make the most of your visit, here are a few quick tips for a successful day:
Be Yourself
Relax and enjoy the day! We want to get to know the real you: your interests, your personality, and your questions. Legacy students are friendly and eager to help you feel at home.
Connect with Your Shadow
Your Shadow is here to show you around and answer your questions. Ask about their favorite classes, activities, or what makes Legacy special to them. You might have more in common than you think! And if you already know your Shadow, enjoy your day spending time with a friend in an environment that they love!
Come Ready to Learn
You won’t need to take any tests, but you will get a firsthand look at our classrooms and culture. Observe, participate, and imagine yourself here as part of the Legacy community.
Dress the Part
We recommend school-appropriate attire similar to our dress code based on the biblical standards of modesty. Please avoid hats, pajamas, inappropriate necklines, and shorts and skirts that are less than a 5 inch inseam. If you’ll join a PE class, we’ll let you know so you can bring appropriate athletic wear.
If you are in 2nd-4th grade, you’ll be headed to recess during the day. We can’t predict the weather, but we can share our guidelines for how we encourage our students to dress based on the temperature!
- Above 60°: Students can wear appropriate, in dress code, clothes of their choice
- 50-60°: Students will wear what they have been sent to school wearing
- 40-50°: Students do not need winter coats out on the playground, yet they are still expected to wear a windbreaker, fleece, hoodie, or some lighter jacket or long-sleeve sweatshirt to cover themselves up
- 20-40°: All students need to wear a jacket. Hats and gloves/mittens are required at 32 degrees and lower*
- 0-20°: All students need to wear a winter jacket, hats, gloves/mittens, and boots*
- Below 0°: Indoor Recess will occur if the temperature is below zero or the wind chill is -10 or below
Pack Light
Bring a small backpack with a notebook and pen. You won’t need any homework or materials, just a curious mind and a positive attitude. Don’t forget to pack your recess clothes if you are in elementary!
Rest Up & Fuel Up
A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast go a long way! You’ll have a full, fun day ahead, so come ready to engage and enjoy.
Get Ready for Pizza
We love Pizza Ranch at Legacy. We eat it every week! That’s what we’ll be serving at lunch, so if you don’t love pizza as much as we do, pack a lunch for your Shadow Day! Middle and high school students will also have access to the Snack Shack throughout the day in case you get hungry. If you are in elementary, bring a snack to eat during snack time!
