On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, Legacy Christian Academy held an official Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of a new school expansion project. Students PreK through 12th grade gathered in the Meadow Creek Worship Center to participate in the momentous day. Each student selected a ‘standing stone’, as inspired by Joshua 4, to keep as their own memorial of God’s provision. Students worshiped together and participated in an exciting message about four key pillars of God’s character: Provider, Faithful, Sovereign, and Savior. Parents, grandparents, and friends of Legacy joined this special time as well. Everyone then filed out to the groundbreaking site. Fresh dirt had been prepared by Kinghorn Construction, and students hovered close to the excitement. Jake Mulvihill, the Head of School at Legacy Christian Academy, shared a few more words of celebration before the student body joined in worship and praise together. Pastor Gil McConnell of Meadow Creek Church and Grady and John of Kinghorn Construction were present for the ceremony. This building was only made possible through God’s provision and the generous hearts of our community who pledged over $8.1M for this New Academic Building. The day was a powerful reminder of the mission of Legacy Christian Academy. Legacy Christian Academy exists to equip the mind and disciple the heart of each student for Christ-like living, and the New Academic Building will allow Legacy to continue to do so into perpetuity.     Left to Right: Dennis Zwirchitz, Advancement Director; John Kinghorn, President of Kinghorn Construction; Gil McConnel, Pastor of Meadow Creek Church; Jake Mulvihill, Head of School; Brian Bovee, School Board Chair; Grady Kinghorn, CEO of Kinghorn Construction
